5 Easy Ways to Support East Side Elders

Seniors enjoying healthy food

Looking for a way to support senior programming on the East Side?  If you don’t have time to volunteer right now, there are still many ways you can help East Side Elders support seniors in Dayton’s Bluff and Payne-Phalen.  Here are just five ways you can get involved and make a difference:

1.Stay in touch!  Like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, connect on Google Plus, and subscribe to our email list.  To help us even more, share our links with your friends so our community of supporters can continue to grow.

2. Donate stamps.  It sounds simple, but sending us stamps is a great way to support our program.  We send out a lot of mailings, including Welcome Packets and applications for food assistance, and that all requires stamps.  So next time you’re at Costco, the grocery store, or the post office, consider picking up some Forever Stamps and sending them our way! (Stamps can be mailed to: East Side Elders, 463 Maria Avenue Suite 201, St. Paul, MN 55106)

3. Write for our blog – have a story idea that fits with our mission to help seniors stay independent in their homes and communities?  Send it to Volunteer@EastSideElders.org and we can discuss including it on our website.  Ideas: easy recipes, family memories, history of the East Side.

4. Amazon Smile.  Using our Amazon Smile link to shop is an easy way to make a donation, without any extra cost to you! Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible orders when you use this link.

5. Sponsor an Elder Cafe! On the second Thursday of every month, East Side Elders hosts the Elder Cafe – an opportunity for seniors to enjoy a free lunch, socialize with their peers, and have fun listening to a program.  If your business provides catering, you can sponsor the Elder Cafe by providing lunch.  Call us at 651-683-2326 or email us at Info@EastSideElders.org for more information.
