What’s Included

Every month, our team of staff and volunteers pack groceries for around 85 older adults living in our service area. Bags include fruit, vegetables, and non-perishable food. Fetch! Clients also choose what kind of milk they would like, including non-dairy options. Each client also chooses from a set of protein options. With these choices, we hope that each client gets a bag of food that they can use and enjoy. For example, a bag may include milk, chicken, mandarins, eggs, and broccoli. However, bags change every month and depend on what we are able to purchase and what has been donated to our program.

Next Delivery of Free Groceries

Volunteer

Interested in helping us get groceries to folks in the community?  Don’t hesitate to fill out an application today!  Generally, volunteers are needed from 10am to 2pm on the third or fourth Tuesday of the month.  We have a grocery packing shift at 10am or a delivery shift at 12:30pm – or you can help with both! Our staff provide an on-site orientation to get everyone started and we are always happy to welcome new volunteers. And lunch is provided! Make a difference in the community, meet new people, and gain volunteer experience!

East Side Elders is happy to accept donations of grocery store gift cards, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, and personal care products. Because of generous donors, we are able to provide a variety of groceries and household items to seniors in the community. If you would like to a make a donation, give us at call at 651-335-8840 and arrange a drop off with one of our staff members. You can also donate items from our Wish List that will be shipped directly to our office. Your donations are so appreciated – thank you for your support!
