Kala Hotakainen, Communications and Outreach Manager

Kala joined the East Side Elders (formerly Dayton’s Bluff Seniors) team in February of 2016. She brings both a passion for volunteerism and experience in volunteer management gained from her internships with the Minnesota Literacy Council and Community Action Partnership of Ramsey and Washington Counties.

Rebecca Nelson, Client Support Specialist

Rebecca Nelson joined the East Side Elders team in October 2016. Rebecca’s upbeat personality and comprehensive knowledge of the East Side of Saint Paul serve her well in her position as Client Support Specialist. Whether she’s coordinating a ride, checking in on a senior, or making connections with other organizations, Rebecca’s friendly and professional attitude shines.

Katrina Yang, Intern

Katrina is a passionate undergraduate student at Hamline University who hopes to enter in the world of Public Health and Management. She is a current member in a variety of clubs, such as Hmong Student Association and Asian Pacific American Coalition. Through these organizations, she advocates for diversity, inclusion, and success for students of color. Katrina hopes to empower the youth on issues such as individualism, education, and mental health.

Matthew Morgan, Intern

Matthew is a recent resident of the Saint Paul area and has come to work with East Side Elders through the Right Track program. He loves to learn new things and loves to help others, which has inspired him to become an educator once he finishes college.
