COVID-19 Statement from East Side Elders

First, we would like to thank every Minnesotan who is staying home and helping to keep our older neighbors safe and healthy.  Though we know staying in is difficult, especially as the weather warms up, know that you are taking a vital step to support your senior neighbors.  Now, more than ever, you are part of our Circle of Care.

To do our part in the global effort to slow the spread of this disease, East Side Elders staff members will be working from home, starting today.  You can still reach us by calling 651-683-2326 – we will be checking messages regularly and will call you back as soon as we can.  You can also reach us by emailing us at Info@EastSideElders.org.

We have cancelled all social events for April, including the East Side Café.  As we get closer to the May 14th café date, we will announce whether the event will go on or if we will need to postpone.  We look forward to later in the spring when we can gather and celebrate with you all!

Essential services such as rides will continue, but in a limited capacity.  As is completely understandable, some of our volunteer drivers are taking a hiatus during these uncertain times.  The remainder of our team will be providing only essential rides to the grocery store, food shelf, and medical appointments.   Our monthly delivery of supplemental groceries will continue as planned.  If you have any questions about our services, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
