Career Opportunity: Executive Director

Are you looking for a challenging yet rewarding job working with older adults?  Do you have experience in grant writing and basic Quickbooks accounting?  Are you passionate about helping seniors stay in their homes for as long as possible without going to an assisted living or nursing home? If your answer to these questions is yes, then we would like to hear from you.

East Side Elders’ mission is to create a circle of care around the elders in Dayton’s Bluff, Payne-Phalen, and Conway Battle Creek neighborhoods, empowering seniors to live safe and independent lives in their homes.

We are seeking an energetic and charismatic leader for our agency. This is a full-time position (35-40 hours weekly) with a salary range of $45,000 – $50,000. Paid holidays and PTO.  This position’s start date is May 2, 2022.

Program Management and Administration

Oversee, support and manage all aspects of program delivery, including monitoring changing needs in the community, remain current on programming such as falls prevention and disease management. Provide opportunities for older adults to enjoy the community with events and activities.   Perform all administrative duties such as budgeting, reporting and supporting the board of directors. Act as advocate for older adults and promote health and wellness through collaboration with other agencies.

Development

Follow and create an annual fundraising plan to include a wide range of sources, including private foundations and individual donors.  Explore grants and all funding opportunities and log all grant applications. Encourage all types of fundraising events including online auctions, as well as events such as meals and other activities.

Must Haves

  • Passion for working with older adults
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and execution of the mission
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Track record of successful grant writing for both private and public funding sources
  • Strong communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks

Nice to Haves

  • 3-5 years’ experience working with older adults
  • BIPOC candidates encouraged to apply
